Uploading with the File Manager

The Datarealm File Manager is an easy way to upload one or two files, but if you have a large group of files it is best if you use dedicated FTP software.

Log into the File Manager

To begin uploading files, first you need to go to the File Manager section of your account control panel. To do this:

1) Connect to your account control panel at: http://www.example.com/admin

2) Click the Website Tools tab at the top of the page

3) Click the File Manager item from the Website Tools submenu on the menu on the left side of the page.

4) On the File Manager page you will be presented with the file manager interface. In the interface, navigate to the folder that you want to upload the files to, by clicking the folder names. Once in the desired directory, click the Upload link from the Directory Tools, this will present the upload interface:

File 1 - File 5 : Select the files from your computer that you want to upload. You can upload up to five files at a time, and they will be uploaded with the same filename as they have on the source computer.

Overwrite all matching files : If you check this box, files with matching files names will be overwritten. If you do not check this box, files with matching filenames will not be uploaded.

After upload, return to this page : If you have more than five files to upload, check this box to upload more files.

Click Upload File(s), and the process will begin.

A warning about browser based uploading

While browser-based uploading is handy, it isn't the best way to move a large number of files to your account. If you are uploading over a slow connection (or large files over a fast connection), your browser could time out breaking the upload process. If you have a lot of uploading to do, we suggest using a FTP program to connect to ftp.datarealm.com and managing your files a little more reliably.
