How to Configure your Local Email Program

We are thrilled to say that cPanel makes configuring your local email client very easy.

You can access the detail you need for each email account in one of two ways :

- Directly via cPanel

- Through the Webmail portal

Directly via cPanel

1. Log into your cPanel account.

2. In the Email section, click on Accounts Icon.

3. Move passed the first section for creating new accounts. Look in the second Email Accounts section which lists all of your active accounts. Each active account has a MORE drop down menu on the far right. The second option is Configure Mail Client. Select this.

4. On the next screen you will be presented with a list of Auto Configuration Scripts. For many popular programs, you will have the option of Auto Config or Auto Discovery and for these programs, you will simply be able to enter your email address and the password and the program will probe our server for the correct settings. Very easy.

If you are attempting to configure one of the email clients that lists a protocol rather then an autoconfig option, you may select the protocol you wish to use (We recommend using IMAP over SSL/TLS) and follow the instructions provided. In short, you will be prompted to download a file to your system and to run it. This script will configure your program of choice for you!

Below the autoconfig scripts, you will see a listing of the settings you need to manually configure any email program. Please use the Secure SSL/TLS Settings.

If you have any questions about or trouble with these configuration option, please let us know!
