Are you timid about moving your web site from your current provider to Datarealm? Don't be! If you follow this step by step guide, signing up and transferring your site will go
without a hitch and you will not experience any downtime at all (and on our load balanced web hosting cluster, downtime will be a thing of the past). If you get stuck at any
point along the way, our award winning support is always available to help.
The easy steps to follow are:
1. Sign up for your new Datarealm web hosting account. (For the best value, choose the 12 month unlimited
plan.) When signing up, be sure to choose the option "I will update my nameservers on an existing domain". This will let us get everything up and running before your domain is
2. Use the instructions in the welcome email you receive to FTP your files into your new account. You can
then use the IP address from your welcome email to preview your site in a browser to make sure that it is working properly.
3. Set up your email accounts. Log into your /admin control panel using the instructions from your welcome email. In your control panel, you can set up email accounts
to be hosted on our servers, or you can forward email from your domain to other existing accounts (e.g., gmail, yahoo, etc).
4. Once you've uploaded and tested your site (using its IP address) and your email addresses have been created, you're ready to direct your domain to your new
account. If you want to transfer your domain to Datarealm (recommended), you will need to obtain your EPP/Authorization Code from your current domain registrar. If you do not
know who your registrar is (it is not necessarily your old hosting company), contact our support and we will find it for
you. If you prefer to stay with your current registrar, just update your domain name servers to: NS1.DATAREALM.COM, NS2.DATAREALM.COM, NS3.DATAREALM.COM. These servers are also
listed in the welcome email for your reference.
That's it! Please allow a few days for traffic to redirect from your old provider to your new Datarealm account. We recommend waiting at least a week after making a domain
change before you cancel your old hosting account.
Congratulations and welcome to Datarealm!
