Our Base 3 account has a special feature that our other accounts do not offer: The ability to point domain names to directories within the account.
This feature makes this account the ultimate match for a person or company wanting to run several websites from one source.
If you really want to use the web to it's fullest potential, this is the account for you. If you need to add additional features to this accounts, please see our
Extra Services.
Account specific features:
3000 Megabytes of Disk Space
This amount of space is enough to run several smaller websites with no
problems. For example, including all images, this site (serve.com) is
7.4 Megabytes in size. You could fit 405 copies of this site in 3000
Megabytes of disk space.
50 Gigabytes of Data Transfer
Data Transfer is a measurement of how much data is being transmitted from your account to the people browsing your site; including images, sound files, and HTML. 99% of our customers do not exceed their data transfer limits. The reason that we use data transfer allotments is so that our customers are not adversely affected by sites that use huge amounts of bandwidth indiscriminately. 24 gigabytes of data transfer gives you plenty of room to operate.
Full Access Control Panel
The Control Panel is the nerve center of your account. Through the Control Panel you can control all aspects of your account such as your domain name, add/remove POP accounts, configure autoresponders and mailing lists, and much more...
Datarealm's current control panel (our second major revision) took 3 years to fully develop. This has allowed us to add very powerful features, while spending enough time to make it easy to use for even the most novice web surfer.
50 POP E-mail Accounts
POP E-Mail accounts are regular e-mail accounts. Mail will be sent to address@your_domain.com, and stored on our servers. To check your
mail you can use programs such as Qualcomm Eudora, Apple Mail and Microsoft Outlook, or our webmail interface at
http://webmail.serve.com.
Infinite E-mail Aliases
An e-mail alias redirects mail sent to one e-mail address to another. For example, billing@your_domain.com redirects to the head of your billing department's e-mail address. E-Mail aliases are a great way to enhance your e-mail services.
"Catch All" E-Mail
The "Catch-All" e-mail address allows you to set a default address that recieves any mail sent to your domain. This is a handy way to ensure that you get all of your e-mail. If you don't want this feature you can turn it off.
30 Autoresponders
Going out of town for a week? Set up an autoresponder so that people will know! As soon as you get an e-mail the autoresponse will be sent out. 30 Autoresponders provides the service that this account requires.
10 Mailing Lists
Keep your users informed of site changes and let them communicate to the group with ease. The Mailing List software we offer is the internet standard MailMan. With the web based interface, the system is a snap to use.
2 Subdomains
A subdomain is second-level domain.
Say, for instance, your main domain is http://www.serve.com and you want to offer a webmail service. Instead of putting it at http://www.serve.com/webmail you can use a subdomain and have it at http://webmail.serve.com -- A much more practical address.
